White-tailed Panaque (Panaque bathyphilus) L90

The L090 Panaque bathyphilus is a large, powerful armored catfish and highly prized by enthusiasts of unusual catfish species. With its massive build, dark base color, and characteristic armor, it appears extremely primitive and impressive. This species is known for its strong affinity for driftwood, which forms an important part of its diet.

Panaque bathyphilus is primarily crepuscular and nocturnal and prefers well-structured aquariums with plenty of driftwood and hiding places. Due to its adult size and high food intake, powerful filtration is essential. This species is best suited for experienced aquarists with ample space.
