The hillstream loach ( Sewellia lineolata ) is one of the most beautiful and popular hillstream loaches. This impressive wild-caught specimen comes from the clear, oxygen-rich mountain streams of Vietnam and captivates with its exceptionally fine, golden-brown striped pattern that shimmers in the light.

With its flat body and large pectoral fins, the hillstream loach is perfectly adapted to life in strong currents. It is a peaceful, sociable bottom dweller and an extremely effective algae eater – ideal for naturalistic river or current aquariums.
