The Pantanal armored catfish (Corydoras pantanalensis) originates from the famous Pantanal wetlands in Brazil and is one of the rarer species of its genus. It is prized for its metallic, iridescent body in gold and green tones and its elegant shape.

This species is peaceful, active, and very sociable . In groups of at least six, the Pantanal Corydoras exhibits lively schooling behavior, creating movement and harmony on the bottom of the aquarium. It prefers a naturally furnished aquarium with a fine sandy substrate, plants, and shaded areas.
