The Orange Sakura Shrimp ( Neocaridina davidi ) is a colorful dwarf shrimp that is characterized by its strong orange coloring. It is a variant of the popular Red Cherry Shrimp and is very popular in aquariums. Thanks to its striking color and easy maintenance, it is ideal for both beginners and experienced aquarists.
Characteristics:
- Size : Females grow up to 3 cm, while males remain slightly smaller.
- Coloration : The Orange Sakura shrimp have a bright orange coloration that varies in intensity depending on the breed and the individual. Females are usually more brightly colored than males.
- Behavior : They are peaceful, sociable animals that like to be kept in groups and get along well with other shrimp or peaceful fish species.
Attitude:
- Aquarium size : An aquarium of at least 20 liters is sufficient for these shrimp. They feel particularly comfortable in well-planted tanks with plenty of hiding places.
- Water values : The Orange Sakura shrimp is very adaptable and thrives in a wide range of water values. Ideal temperatures are 18 to 28°C, a pH value of 6.5 to 8.0 and soft to medium hard water.
- Food : These shrimp are omnivorous and feed on algae, food scraps, plant material and special shrimp food. They help keep the aquarium clean by consuming algae and organic waste.
- Reproduction : Orange Sakura shrimp reproduce easily in the aquarium. Females carry the eggs under their abdomen and after about 30 days fully developed young shrimp hatch.

The Orange Sakura shrimp is a particularly easy-care species and is therefore ideal for beginners in shrimp keeping. Their bright color makes them a striking highlight in any aquarium.
