The L400 Hypancistrus ( Hypancistrus sp. "L400" ) is a rare, strikingly patterned L-number catfish from the Rio Curuá in Brazil. With its distinctive black and white striped pattern, it resembles the well-known L066, but appears finer and more uniform in its markings – a true gem for any aquarium.
The L400 remains compact, reaching a final size of approximately 10–12 cm, and is known for its peaceful, calm nature. It is crepuscular, prefers shady hiding places, and displays particularly vibrant colors in well-structured aquariums.
