The L142 Baryancistrus ( Baryancistrus sp. “L142” ) is a rare, strikingly colored wild-caught specimen from the Rio Tapajós in Brazil. With its dark brown to black body, golden-yellow spots, and bright yellow dorsal and caudal fins, it resembles the popular Gold Nugget Plecos ( L018 , L081 , L177 ).
This Baryancistrus is peaceful, strikingly beautiful, and displays particularly intense colors in clean, oxygen-rich water. Reaching a final size of approximately 18–20 cm, it remains medium-sized and is ideal for larger community aquariums with structured aquascapes.
