The L090 Papa Pleco ( Panaque bathyphilus ) is an impressive, rare wild-caught specimen from the upper Amazon region of Peru. With its massive body shape, powerful fins, and typical dark base color, it is one of the most impressive Panaque species. Characteristic of this species are the broad, horizontal stripes and the robust, regal growth – hence the name "Papa Pleco".

The L090 is a peaceful but assertive wood-eating crayfish that thrives in large, well-structured aquariums. With a potential adult size of up to 35 cm, it is ideal for experienced aquarists with ample space and strong filtration.

🍽️ Feeding:
The Panaque bathyphilus (L090) is a typical wood-eater ( xylophagous ). It constantly requires soft driftwood to rasp on, which serves as both food and a source of fiber. It also eats plant matter such as spirulina, seaweed wafers, vegetable chips, zucchini, cucumber, and spinach. Occasionally, it will also accept some frozen food.

Excellent water quality, strong flow, and oxygen-rich water are essential for the Papa Pleco . Its patterns and vibrant colors are shown off to their best advantage on dark substrate.
