The Chaca bankanensis – also known as the frogmouth catfish – is an extremely unusual and fascinating bottom-dwelling fish from Southeast Asia. With its flat body, wide mouth, and perfect camouflage, it is one of the most exciting ambush predators in freshwater. This rare species is particularly suitable for species-only aquariums and enthusiasts of unusual predators.
Chaca bankanensis spends a lot of time motionless on the ground, waiting for prey. With sufficient hiding places, subdued lighting, and soft substrate, it displays its natural behavior particularly impressively.
