Anubias barteri var. nana "Petite", also known as Anubias barteri var. nana "Bonsai", is one of the smallest Anubias varieties. This attractive plant was discovered in a nursery and deliberately propagated. With a height of only 2-5 cm and its tiny, dark green leaves, it is an ideal epiphyte for nano aquariums, but also cuts an excellent figure in the foreground or middle ground of larger aquariums. Thanks to its robust foliage, the Anubias nana "Bonsai" is even left alone by herbivorous fish.
**Optimal care:**
The bonsai dwarf spear leaf should be tied to stones or roots and not planted in the substrate to prevent the rhizome from rotting. Anubias nana "Petite" thrives even in low light and can easily be placed in shady areas of the aquarium.
**Simple propagation:**
Propagating this plant is straightforward: a piece of the rhizome with at least two leaves is cut off and tied to a new location. This way, the plant will continue to grow reliably.
**Versatile use:**
In addition to keeping in aquariums, Anubias barteri var. nana "Bonsai" is also ideal for terrariums with high humidity, where it can unfold its compact beauty.
