Ceratophyllum demersum , also known as hornwort , is an extremely robust and fast-growing aquarium plant that does not require roots. It can float freely in the water or be loosely fixed in the substrate and is suitable both as a floating plant and for the background of larger aquariums.
Due to its rapid growth, Ceratophyllum demersum is an excellent nutrient consumer , helping to reduce algae growth and stabilize water quality. Its finely feathered, deep green shoots offer ideal hiding places for fry and shrimp.
