The Burmese clown loach (Botia histrionica) is a beautiful wild-caught specimen from Myanmar , distinguished by its characteristic black and gold markings and playful, inquisitive behavior . This smaller Botia species is among the most popular loaches in aquariums and exhibits fascinating social behavior when kept in groups.

As a peaceful, sociable bottom dweller, it thrives in well-structured tanks with plenty of hiding places, fine sandy substrate, and gentle currents. Its natural behavior makes it a real highlight for experienced aquarists.
