The Blue Dream Shrimp ( Neocaridina davidi ) is an intense and colorful dwarf shrimp that is characterized by its deep, uniform blue. It is one of the most popular shrimp species in the aquarium hobby and is ideal for aquarium enthusiasts who want to add a colorful accent to their tank. Characteristics:

  • Size : Females grow up to 3 cm, males remain slightly smaller.

  • Water values : Blue Dream shrimp are relatively robust and can cope with different water conditions. Ideal temperatures are 18 to 28°C, a pH value of 6.5 to 8.0 and soft to medium hard water.
  • Food : They are omnivorous and feed on algae, leftover food, dead plant material and special shrimp food. They actively contribute to cleaning the aquarium by eliminating algae and waste.
  • Reproduction : The Blue Dream shrimp reproduces easily in the aquarium. Females carry the eggs under their abdomens and after about 30 days the young shrimp hatch and are immediately independent.
