The wavy-leaved water-stem (Aponogeton longiplumulosus) comes from northwest Madagascar and can reach a height of up to 60 cm in the aquarium. Its wavy leaf structure makes it an impressive eye-catcher as a solitary plant in large, tall aquariums and also sets attractive structural accents in the background.
Aponogeton longiplumulosus grows in cool waters with strong currents. After a while, the plant retracts its leaves and goes into a resting phase. It does not have to be removed from the aquarium for this, but can spend its rest in place.
The approximately 2 cm large tuber should be placed in the aquarium so that about half of it remains uncovered. Soon after, it will sprout its wonderful light green leaves.
