The Bucephalandra 'Kedagang' is a particularly attractive variant of the Bucephalandra family, which, like many of its relatives, originates from the waters of Borneo. Its long, narrow, dark green leaves with fine white dots give it an elegant yet exotic appearance. These leaves can reach a width of 1-2 cm and a length of up to 6 cm, making it a striking plant that immediately catches the eye in the underwater landscape.
Another characteristic feature of the 'Kedagang' is its reddish root stem, which resembles the red variants of the Bucephalandra and creates additional color contrasts in the aquarium. Particularly fascinating is the possible blue-metallic shimmer on the leaves, which becomes visible under certain lighting conditions, especially when the plant is cultivated submerged, i.e. completely under water.
Like most Bucephalandra species, 'Kedagang' grows slowly and prefers dim light and nutrient-rich water. It is relatively easy to care for and is ideal for decorating aquariums by attaching it to stones or roots. Similar to Anubias or Microsorum, the rootstock should not be buried in the substrate to avoid rot.
This plant brings an additional dimension to aquascaping with its special appearance and different color tones and can be used particularly well in combination with other Bucephalandra variants or plants such as Anubias.
